Moving Day

Tuesday, Ma7 19, 2009 - Today the movers packed up most of our things.  It's hard to believe we'll be leaving for Italy in about 7 weeks.  With moving overseas, we'll have three separate shipments.  The first shipment takes all of our furniture and pretty much most of our belongings.  It could take up to 2 months to get overseas.  The second shipment will be our Express shipment.  That will be mostly linens, baby crib, some toys, etc.  It has to be less than 1,000 pounds.  That shipment will leave in about a month and should take less than a month to arrive to Italy.  The third shipment is the remaining things that we want to put in permanent storage here in the DC area.  For most of the day while the movers were here, I took Noah and Lincoln out.  It was too tough to be in the house with all the guys moving our things.  We've been reading some children's moving/packing/new house books that we got from the library.  I think it has helped Noah understand a little more about this whole process, as much as a 2 1/2 year old can understand.  DJ is in La Conner visiting his Grandma Loree and Grandpa Larry.  We wish he was here to be a part of the moving process, but with our limited time left in the States, it was the most ideal time for him to visit with the Yonallys before we go overseas.
