Roasting chestnuts and hiking at Mt. Etna.

On Saturday we went on a trip to Mt. Etna. We took a bus with several other families from base. We stopped for coffee and hot chocolate at a cafe along the way. Then we collected chestnuts and roasted them. It's a holiday tradition in Sicily. We went on a guided hike and then had a barbque. It was such a nice family day.

Wow!! You Guys!!

How many miles did you hike? You all look so fit and healthy. That red thing on the ground with the leaves around must be a chestnut!!

Tom must have had a workout pushing the stroller up Mt Etna! DJ, Noah, and Lincoln had big smiles! We recall our hikes in Europe in the 70's. Tom was doing 7 mile hikes at age 5. Never give up!!
